In Store Afterschool Program
RobotCity Workshop is excited to announce that we are offering in-store afterschool programs at our 3226 North Sheffield location for the 2012-13 school year! These programs will follow the same structure as our in-school afterschool programs and are a great option for homeschool students and students who attend a school that does not offer robotics classes.
Classes will be available for grades 3-5 on Wednesdays, K-2 on Thursdays, and 6-8 on Fridays. Our fall session will begin the week of October 1st and end the week of December 10th for 10 total classes (no classes Thanksgiving week).
RCW K-2 Afterschool Program
Robots are everywhere! They’re in our homes, our factories, and even space – but how do they work? In this exciting afterschool program, you will learn all about what makes a robot a robot, including aspects such as circuits and locomotion, all while building multiple unique robots to take home for your own experiments. Robots are the future! When you know how to build them, you’ll truly have the world at your fingertips (or at least you’ll never have to do chores again). Students will build four robots selected for young robot builders: a flying saucer, bubble robot, solar grasshopper, and sliding ladybug. Appropriate for students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.

RCW 3-5 Afterschool Program

Students will build four robots selected for elementary school aged robot builders: a mechanical kangaroo, salt water-fueled spider, solar mechanical robot, and mechanical giraffe. Appropriate for students in 3rd to 5th grade.

RCW Junior High Afterschool Program
This fall, join RobotCity as we move into special effects territory. We will be constructing an interactive animatronic display featuring moving eyes, motion detection, and sound effects. Students will experiment with various components, including servo motors, sensors, and microcontrollers, and learn how to make them function together to perform different tasks. Don’t miss this fun and creative session of robot building! Appropriate for students in 6th-8th grade.
